Our history

Around the ’50s, Misael Alfaro, a resident of San José, being a self-taught person, decided to move to Pejibaye de Pérez Zeledón, opening “Botiquín El Valle” there, providing health services to the town, earning their respect and affection. His daughter Olga was his right hand, learning from him, she studied nursing and continued working in pharmacies for years.

On the other hand, Farmacia Ibarra Ciudad Neilly, recognized for providing a highly personalized service for more than 50 years by Dr. Jorge Badilla Delgado, a pharmacist recognized as “El Dr. Ibarra” or “Machaca” by his colleagues, was the precursor pharmacy that gave life to its current branches.

In 2004, the second Ibarra branch opened in Palmar Norte, becoming the only pharmacy in the town of Palmar Norte. The next branch was located in Ciudad Cortes in 2007, followed by Uvita in 2008, Ojochal in 2019 and Rio Claro in 2021.

Originally we are a family that came from Heredia and migrated to the Southern Zone of Costa Rica with the purpose of creating a differentiated service that helps to preserve the health of the people.

The values ​​that we learned as children, teamwork, faith in God, the fight despite health problems, economic problems, and any other circumstance give us the conviction that it will be temporary as long as we focus on our goals and dreams.

We provide services such as pharmacological monitoring, free blood pressure measurement, application of injectables and vaccination schedule. We have a great variety of cosmetics, natural products, essential oils, dermatological products, orthopedics line, special promotions and membership for our points system. If we do not have the product you are looking for or you find it at a higher price, we will make our best to give you a solution as soon as possible to be the pharmacy of your preference.
